Terms of Service
Last updated 21 August 2026
The short version. Use Sonder for your own life, don't abuse it, and don't rely on it for anything critical. It's built by one person and it comes as-is. You own what you write. You can leave whenever you want and take nothing with you but your phone.
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Sonder Calendar, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. Sonder is operated by Owen Lombardi. You can reach us at hello@sondercalendar.com.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. One account per person. Don't share your password.
3. Your content is yours
Everything you put into Sonder — your events, notes and plans — belongs to you. We claim no ownership. Most of it never reaches our servers at all; see the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you write. Don't put anything into Sonder that is illegal, or that you don't have the right to store.
4. What you agree not to do
- Break the law, or use Sonder to help someone else break it
- Harass, impersonate or abuse another user
- Try to access another person's account or data
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate the app or our servers
- Get around usage limits, or resell access to the app
- Overload our systems, deliberately or through automated tools
We may suspend or delete an account that does any of these, without notice.
5. Free and paid
The core calendar is free, including voice input, colors, goals and sharing. Free accounts have a daily limit on voice and text requests, because each one costs us money to process.
Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed through Apple, renew automatically, and can be cancelled any time in your iPhone's Settings. Apple handles all payments and refunds — we never see your card details. Prices may change with notice.
6. AI and accuracy
Sonder uses AI to turn what you say into calendar events. It will sometimes get things wrong — the wrong time, the wrong category, or an event you didn't ask for. Always check what it created.
Do not rely on Sonder alone for anything that matters: flights, medication, exams, interviews, court dates. It is a tool for seeing your time, not a system of record.
7. Your data can still be lost
Your calendar is backed up to your account, and signing in on a new phone will normally bring it back. But a backup is not a guarantee. It can only restore what reached it, so changes made while you were offline may not be there, and we cannot promise your data will always be recoverable. Keep anything critical somewhere else too.
8. The service can change or stop
Sonder is a work in progress. Features may change or be removed. We may suspend or shut down the service. If we shut down permanently, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
9. No warranty
SONDER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ACCURATE, OR ERROR-FREE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OWEN LOMBARDI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF SONDER — INCLUDING MISSED APPOINTMENTS, INCORRECTLY PARSED EVENTS, LOST CALENDAR DATA, OR UNAUTHORISED ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION — WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. In those places, the above applies only to the extent permitted, and you may have rights that these terms cannot take away.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Everything we hold about you is deleted with it. We may terminate an account that violates these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Sonder after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
14. Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for Sonder. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. Any questions, support requests or claims about the app go to us, not to Apple.
